What is DocsTeach?  


The National Archives has been putting primary source documents into the hands of educators to inspire, intrigue and motivate students. With DocsTeach.org, educators can still engage their students through primary sources, but in a new, interactive way.

From the home page, teachers can search for activities ready to use in the classroom, begin to explore the more than 3,000 documents featured from the holdings of the National Archives, or even create their own fun and engaging activities.

MINI-TASK  


1.  Create your own fun and engaging activity.  Click on "Get Started."

2.   Select an activity by clicking on “Create an Activity.”  Seven teaching tools to use!
            a.  Finding a Sequence
            b.  Focusing on Details
            c.  Mapping connections
            d.  Mapping History
            e.  Seeing the Big Picture
            f.   Weighing the Evidence
            g.  Interpreting Data

 3.  To create an activity, you must log into the website.  If you do not have an account, click on the register button to make an account.

 4.  Follow the instruction to design an activity:
            a.  Search or browse for documents
            b.  Click to add documents to this activity
            c.   Re-open the activity creator to place documents and customize activity

 5.  Have fun discovering all the primary sources!
